How Does a Tandem Skydive Work?

From arrival to landing – your experience step by step

01

Arrival & Briefing

You arrive at the drop zone and are welcomed by your tandem instructor. In a 20-minute briefing you learn the correct body position, the jump sequence and all safety procedures. All equipment – jumpsuit, helmet, goggles and the parachute system – is prepared and fitted for you personally.

02

Climb to 4,000 Metres

Together with your tandem instructor you board the aircraft and climb to 4,000 metres above sea level. Depending on the drop zone, the ascent takes 15 to 25 minutes. The view of the Swiss landscape from the plane is already spectacular – the perfect build-up to the main event.

03

Freefall – 45 to 55 Seconds

The moment you've been waiting for: you exit the aircraft and experience 45 to 55 seconds of pure freefall at up to 200 km/h. The feeling is extraordinary – not the terrifying drop you might expect, but an intense floating sensation over the Swiss Mittelland with Lake Zurich and the Alps below.

04

Canopy Flight & Landing

At around 1,500 metres your instructor opens the parachute. What follows is 5 to 8 minutes of peaceful gliding with breathtaking views. Your instructor steers you safely to the landing area – you touch down on your feet and won't stop smiling for hours.
