How Does a Tandem Skydive Work?
From arrival to landing – your experience step by step
Arrival & Briefing
You arrive at the drop zone and meet your tandem instructor. In a 20-minute ground briefing you learn everything you need: body position, the jump sequence and all safety procedures. All equipment is fitted specifically for you – jumpsuit, helmet, goggles and the tandem parachute system.
Climb to 4,000 Metres
You board the aircraft together with your instructor and climb to 4,000 metres above sea level. The ascent takes 15 to 25 minutes. Already from the plane you can see the Bernese Alps – the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau rising above the Interlaken valley. The perfect warm-up for the main event.
Freefall – 45 to 55 Seconds
You exit the aircraft and experience 45 to 55 seconds of pure freefall at up to 200 km/h. Below you the Bernese Oberland spreads out in all its glory – Thunersee, Brienzersee, the valley of Interlaken and the magnificent glacier world of the high Alps. An experience that no photo can truly capture.
Canopy Flight & Landing
At around 1,500 metres the parachute opens. You enjoy 5 to 8 minutes of peaceful gliding above the Swiss landscape. Your instructor steers you safely to the landing zone – you land on your feet and will be talking about this for years.
