Davos, at 1,560 metres above sea level in the canton of Graubünden, is the highest city in the Alps and one of Switzerland's most internationally recognised resort towns. Famous worldwide as the host of the World Economic Forum, Davos is surrounded by the dramatic ridgelines of the Plessur Alps and the Silvretta range. From a tandem jump exit altitude of 4,000 metres, the contrast is extraordinary: the entire Davos valley basin, the Davosersee lake, the Flüela Pass road winding up to the east, and the broad Graubünden mountains extending in every direction.
The nearest certified tandem drop zone is Skydiving Ostschweiz in Altenrhein (canton of St. Gallen, approx. 65 km via the Prättigau valley). Dropzone 47 in Grenchen (canton of Solothurn, approx. 120 km) is an alternative further west. Tandem jumps run from April to October with licensed instructors.

Davos's exceptional altitude means that even from the valley floor you are already above the treeline in places. From 4,000 metres, the mountain world of Graubünden – Switzerland's largest and most sparsely populated canton – unfolds in all directions. The Weissfluh (2,844m) and the Jakobshorn (2,590m) define the valley walls, with the Silvretta range to the south and the Prättigau valley opening northward towards Küblis. On clear days, the view extends to the Rhine valley and even Lake Constance (Bodensee) to the north.

How Does a Tandem Skydive Work?
From arrival to landing – step by step
Arrival & Briefing
You arrive at the drop zone and meet your tandem instructor for a 20-minute ground briefing covering body position, safety procedures and the jump sequence. All equipment is fitted for you personally.
Climb to 4,000 Metres
The aircraft climbs to 4,000 metres in 15–25 minutes. The Rhine valley, Lake Constance and the Graubünden Alps come into view as you gain altitude.
Freefall – 45 to 55 Seconds
You exit the aircraft and experience 45–55 seconds of freefall at up to 200 km/h. The Davos valley, the Davosersee lake and the Graubünden mountain ridges fill the panorama below.
Canopy Flight & Landing
At 1,500m the parachute opens for 5–8 minutes of gliding. Your instructor brings you to a smooth standing landing.
